Home energy rebates, checked and dated

The federal heat pump and solar credits ended on December 31, 2025. What is left is a patchwork of state and utility programs that pause, run dry and reopen without warning — and most guides you will find were written once and never checked again.

Every program here carries a status and the date we last read its official source. When we have not checked recently, we say so rather than letting you assume.

The federal credits are gone. See what ended and what is still available.

Common questions

Is there still a federal tax credit for heat pumps in 2026?

No. Sections 25C and 25D were repealed by Public Law 119-21, signed July 4, 2025, for property placed in service after December 31, 2025. There was no step-down; the credits ended outright. Remaining help comes from state programs and utilities.

Why does this site show a date on every program?

Because incentive programs pause, run out of money and reopen without notice, and a guide written six months ago cannot tell you which happened. Every record here shows when we last read the administrator’s own page, so you can judge how much to trust it.

Does a program being listed mean I will get the money?

No. We report the status an administrator publishes. Eligibility, funding and approval are decided by the administrator, not by us. Confirm with them before you spend anything.
