How we check

Every program on this site is read from the administrator’s own page — the utility, state agency or nonprofit that actually pays the rebate. Not from an aggregator, and not from another guide.

Each record shows the date we last read that page. That date is the point.

The numbers

We publish an amount only after reading it from the administrator’s published schedule. If a figure is unconfirmed, the page shows none rather than a number carried over from a previous year. That is how people end up planning around a rebate that no longer exists.

Programs are re-checked on a schedule. When a source page changes, the record is reviewed before anything here changes.

What the labels mean

Accepting applications

Open and being funded at the last check.

Waitlist only

You can apply, but the money is not guaranteed.

Paused

The program exists but is not taking applications.

Funds exhausted

This cycle’s budget is spent. It may reopen.

Not yet verified

The program is listed, but we have not confirmed its current state. Treat it as a starting point, not an answer.

And the date: checked within 14 days is current. Older than 45 days and the page tells you so. Older than 120 days and the record is kept out of comparisons entirely.

What we will not do

We do not publish amounts we have not read from the source. We do not publish under invented expert names. We do not guess at a figure to fill a gap.

If we are wrong

The administrator is always the final authority. If their page says something different from ours, they are right. Tell us at hello@gridrebate.com and we will fix it and date the correction.
