Conditions worth knowing

Single-family homes, two- to four-family buildings, and individual apartment owners in buildings with five or more apartments. A whole building with five or more apartments goes through the separate multifamily program instead.
Incentives are capped at 70% of project cost, or 85% in a Disadvantaged Community — the headline figure is a ceiling, not an entitlement.
The Weatherized Tier pays more and requires the home to be properly insulated and air sealed. Homes that do not meet it can still take the standard incentive.
Option 1 means removing or disabling the old heating system. Option 2 means keeping it and adding integrated controls, and pays substantially less.
If you already took an incentive for a partial heat pump installation, removing the old fossil fuel system later can add up to $4,000 for a single-family home or $1,500 for an apartment.
You must use a Participating Contractor, and the property must be deemed service adequate.
